Code Of Conduct

Creating a safe, inclusive and people-first community for the legal sector.
LegaltechLive exists to bring legal professionals, technology providers, service specialists and innovators together in an environment built on trust, connection, authenticity and respect. This Code of Conduct sets the expectations for all Members, event participants and guests.
By joining LegaltechLive, attending events, or participating in the community, you agree to uphold the standards set out below.
1. Our Values
LegaltechLive is founded on the principles of:
- People-first connection
- Respect and inclusion
- Authentic collaboration
- Shared learning and insight
- Transparency and integrity
- Non-sales-led conversations
Our community works when people feel welcome, safe and valued.
2. Respectful Behaviour
All Members must:
- Treat others with courtesy and professionalism
- Listen actively and allow space for others to contribute
- Challenge ideas, not individuals
- Respect differences in background, perspective and expertise
- Behave in a way that enhances the environment for all participants
Aggressive, dismissive or hostile behaviour is not tolerated.
3. Inclusion & Diversity
LegaltechLive is committed to creating inclusive spaces.
Members must not engage in:
- Discrimination
- Harassment
- Bullying
- Offensive or inappropriate comments
- Behaviour that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome
We expect Members to contribute to an atmosphere where everyone is able to participate fully.
4. No Aggressive Selling
LegaltechLive Members and attendees must not:
- Pressure others into sales conversations
- Misrepresent products, services or credentials
- Interrupt discussion to promote offerings
- Mass-email attendees using directory information
Authentic connection drives future collaboration - not hard-selling.
5. Open Mic Rules
Open Mic sessions are designed for sharing ideas, education, and showcasing innovation, not hard selling.
Presenters must:
- Keep to time limits
- Share insights, not corporate overviews
- Avoid misleading claims or comparisons
- Not disparage competitors
- Use accessible language
- Be prepared for questions
- Respect facilitation and structure
LegaltechLive may decline an Open Mic request if misuse is likely.
6. Circles: Confidentiality & Respect
Circle sessions are confidential spaces for honest conversation.
Members must:
- Not share comments, names, challenges or insights discussed
- Not record, photograph or capture content without explicit permission
- Not use shared insights for commercial advantage
- Avoid dominating discussions or interrupting others
Violation of Circle confidentiality is grounds for immediate removal from Membership.
7. Data & Directory Use
Members must use Member Directory information responsibly.
Prohibited actions include:
- Sending unsolicited marketing or sales emails
- Adding contacts to automated mailing lists
- Sharing contact details with third parties
- Scraping, downloading or exporting directory data
Directory access is for connection, not solicitation.
8. Event Etiquette
Members and guests must:
- Arrive on time and respect event structure
- Engage with facilitators and peers respectfully
- Avoid disruptive behaviour
- Follow venue rules
- Comply with health & safety guidance
LegaltechLive reserves the right to remove any attendee who disrupts the event or breaches this Code.
9. Alcohol & Social Conduct
Some LegaltechLive events may serve alcohol. Members are expected to:
- Drink responsibly
- Maintain professionalism
- Avoid behaviour that could make others uncomfortable
- Respect personal boundaries
Harassment or inappropriate conduct will not be tolerated.
10. Photography, Filming & Media
By attending events, Members acknowledge that:
- Photos and video may be captured
- These may be used for marketing and promotional materials
- Members may request not to be photographed or included
- Consent for testimonials or quotes will be requested separately
If you prefer not to appear in photography, please inform a member of the LegaltechLive team.
11. Breaches of the Code
LegaltechLive may take action for breaches, including:
- Verbal or written warnings
- Removal from an event
- Suspension of Membership
- Termination of Membership without refund
- Revocation of Open Mic eligibility
- Permanent exclusion from future events
LegaltechLive’s decision is final.
12. Reporting Concerns
We encourage Members to report:
- Behaviour that breaches this Code
- Safety issues
- Inclusion concerns
- Misuse of data
- Conflicts of interest
- Misrepresentation by Members
Reports are handled confidentially and with care.

13. Updates to This Code
LegaltechLive may update this Code to reflect:
- Community needs
- Legal developments
- Best practice
- Event format changes
Members will be notified of changes.
